Our Story

Janta’s founding team is made up of three people from distinct backgrounds who met at a common location and found themselves wondering about the same problem.

Naren, Aishwarya, and Pankul met at the Indian School of Business’ Hyderabad campus during their MBA course in 2021. Amidst the whirlwind of opportunities and academic challenges, they soon realized the inevitable truth of the fast-paced MBA world - building meaningful relationships in such a short span of time was a daunting task. The question lingered in their minds: How many connections could they genuinely form, and how many of those could they sustain beyond the one-year course?

Despite being the top B-school in the country, ISB had just a common email thread for its alumni base of 15,000+ graduates to interact. While this was still an improvement over what many other Indian institutes offered (which was nothing at all), it fell short in creating a robust and engaging network for alumni.

There was an evident miss – almost too visible to be overlooked – in utilizing the alumni network to build a strong sense of community across all colleges. Delving deeper into this idea, Naren, Aishwarya, and Pankul discovered that even the college administrations struggled to effectively manage their alumni database and maintain a close connection with their former students.

This is how the idea for “Janta” was born – an innovative solution that aimed to empower alumni communities and bring them together like never before. Over the course of the next year, and after extensive research and development efforts, Janta was shaped into a powerful tool for connecting alumni.
